Why don't pretty black women enlist as models? There are too few black models around. But there is no shortage of attractive black women around. So why the disinterest in modelling? All we seem to have is that Naomi with her anger management issues and that Wek (?) from somewhere like Kenya who is not pretty i.mo. |
| You've just answered that question yourself..."why don't they ENLIST".I'm sure if they put themselves forward or "enlisted" there would be plenty of opportunities for them. |
How do I find Black models (primarily women) in Canada who'll pose nude? Ad-writing tips would be much appreciated as well.
Also, if there are any tips on screening out divas and ppl seeking porn, that would be great. I'm no prude but I want models who'll understand that the photography is for art only (I'm a painter). Also, how much should they be expected to get paid per hour? And, are there any websites I should check? I need women of various sizes and shapes and ages. I'll only need 1 male. |
Join onemodelplace.com, netmodel and modelmayhem - you can search fairly specifically from there, which will save the ad writing, by simply using a ticker to say you are interested in working with someone in particular.
The models will have their own rates and some may work TFP (time for prints) or TFCD (time for CD).
You can state your requirements when you get correspondence, which will act as your filter but I am sure even porn models will be quite happy to do some art images - divas are another matter and their folios should give the secret away, with a long list of demands and requirements which should get your Diva-dar bleeping! |
How come only black models? isn't it very unusual? In ALL gorgeous ROBIN THICKE's videos he features only black women models and ALL his backup singers are black too.
I think its very unusual for a very handsome and young white male to feature only black models in his videos if at all. (its a fact no racism meant here) don't take my word for it, just check them out on youtube if you are interested.
ps, the videos are too many for me to give links |
| he likes black women |
Why are some black women so concerned about there being black models? It seems to me like they are looking for a white stamp of approval. Magazines like Essence, Ebony, and Jet continually feature black people continually. Brands like Sean John, Rocawear, etc also feature black models. However, this does not seem to be good enough for them. I see no problem with the fashion industry using white models most of the time. After all, most of the brands are EUROPEAN. You don't hear white people complaining that they don't use enough white girls for Apple Bottom Jean ads. Why makes black women so entitled that they feel the need to criticize EUROPEAN designers for not using enough models of color? They do not owe them anything. They don't owe anyone anything. They are free to use whatever models they want. It seems to me that black women will only be happy once they see tons of black models on the covers of Vogue and Elle and in ads for Burberry, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Lacoste, etc. They need to realize that the biggest consumers of those brands and magazines are WHITE PEOPLE. So, of course, designers and magazine editors want to make their demographic happy. The only reason why those brands and magazines are so popular is because white people buy them. |
I feel where you are coming from..however, its not about being entitled. I think its more about feeling equal. It is programed in the african american culture (overall) to not feel completely excepted or equal to other races. This stems from the history of slavery. And yes, many cultures have adapted to the social norms that were once enslaved. Unfortunately its easier for them to do so rather than for and person of color to adapt.
When african american women see more models that look like them, it makes them feel as though they are equal, beautiful, and proud. Just as it was when african american saw Obama become president...AND how it was for most women BLACK AND WHITE to support Hilary Clinton to become the first FEMALE president.
It builds confidence to see others that are like you do something extraordinary. Just as it is important for plus size models to see more women that dont look hungry modeling as well.
And yes the biggest consumers of the products you mentioned are white people. And Sean John, Rocawear, etc. do feature other models other than african american women...But i dont think its about entitlement. I think its about ambition, optimism, equality, and for women...defining what ELSE can be considered beautiful
the question u asked can become very deep. and there is no RIGHT or WRONG answer. |
Are there online lingerie stores with black women modeling the clothes? My wife is a dark brown african american. I want to shop online for some lingerie for her but i can't get an idea of what colors would look right on her or what would work for her if there's nothing but a bunch of white women modeling the lingerie on the sites. |
| I think that you can try www.bravissimo.com I am sure i saw some black models on it. |
Is there an unwritten rule in advertising that says Black women cannot have relaxed or permed hair? Most African-American women do not wear their hair in a natural state, but most White ad agencies cast Black models and actresses with kinky hair or short afros. I have wondered what is the reasoning behind this for years and would love to hear from someone in advertising why they do this since it does not actually mirror society |
| I suppose it all depends on where you live I live in London and I see black women with natural hair and relaxed hair its a middle i think i see more with natural hair actually and in advertising I ee more with natural hair then relaxed. So i guess in certain parts of the US its different |
Why do SUM black women look at me messed up? Is it because my shape is like a model black woman or what? because it seems they looovee to hate on whitey over here ...p.s b8ches Im cute as hell! |
| DOn't talk about it....be about it. |
Is the lack of positive role models for black men causing them to become Gay? The only people these boys see as role models while growing up are black women. Is this what causes them to become Gay? |
Da f*ck?
My mom was the only parent in my household growing up and I'm straighter than the straightest of lines.
If that's the case, then how do you explain the males that become gay and have lived in a two parent household all their lives? |
